Grand Lake Winter Elopement Photographer | Britney + Rob

Britney + Rob got married at a rustic horse farm in Grand Lake for a winter wonderland elopement. It was an intimate and full-on winter snow day up in the Rocky Mountains surrounded by cabins and horses. The couple rented out a cabin of their own for the day and they ended up staying there for the week for their honeymoon. Their elopement day was just the two of them, myself, and a videographer, it was so sentimental and small! They decided to get married on 2/2/22 which ended up being a very popular day for a wedding not only for the numbers but also that it was a TWOsday, too!

Brittney wore a beautiful cream, silk dress that allowed her to really stand out even in the snow. She had a gorgeous shawl that kept her warm while we were outside and added some texture to the look. The contrast between the silk and the shawl was absolutely stunning for her winter wedding look. Her bouquet was a loose garden-style bundle with pastel pinks and rich burgundy roses. It brought color to both their outfits and was a great compliment to the overall style of the elopement. We took some portraits with the bride and groom separately and then had the sweetest first look in the rustic library of the venue.

It ended up being a super cold day because it was snowing very hard. We trudged out to their ceremony site in the winter wonderland and got wrapped up in the beauty of the moment! Just after Brittney and Rob exchanged rings a stampede of horses ran in the distance behind them, talk about magical! They took a few moments after their vows were exchanged. The two danced together and had some first kisses, enjoying and soaking in every moment.

After the ceremony, we went inside to this cozy and warm bar to ring in the celebratory moment. The couple shared a shot using the shot ski on the wall. Okay maybe me and the videographer bribed them to do it… In addition to their already stunning looks, Brittney and Rob had custom cowboy hats made special for each of them at a shop in Wyoming. They were slightly different colors but overall went with the whole rustic, Colorado ranch wedding vibe of the whole environment.

After warming up a little with drinks and sitting by the fire inside, we ended the day back outside for some more portraits. We had so much fun playing in the blizzard! Even though it felt cold we kept moving around and really soaking in the beauty of the day. Lastly, they signed their marriage license and made it official! Just as I departed they called their families to share the moment and then went on to a chef's special steak dinner later that evening.
